New participant Frequently Asked Questions

BASE exists to offer snowsport opportunities to anyone not appropriately served by Bogus Basin Ski and Snowboard School. We are 100% volunteer staffed and have more PSIA/ASSI Adaptive Instructors than any other school in the region. We coach our participants in life skills as well as how to become more independent in winter activities.
-
Sessions are held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for an 8-week period from January 9th, 2026 until March 1st, 2026. You can sign up for as many as 4 sessions for the season with our adaptive instructors.
-
Participants may sign up for up to 4 sessions per season, and those registering for 4 sessions will receive a Bogus Basin Season Pass. A wait list is available for further session requests.
-
All sessions are a 2-hour private experience with at least 2 highly qualified adaptive instructors. Each session includes rental and adaptive equipment, a lift pass, and adaptive snowsport instruction.

BASE operates out of Simplot Lodge at Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area. Simplot Lodge is the main lodge at the base of the ski runs. For more information on how to get to Bogus Basin, see the Bogus Basin “Getting Here” page at: https://bogusbasin.org/your-mountain/getting-here/
-
Bogus Basin has made an accessible parking area just east of the main parking lot. You will need an ADA placard to show the lot attendant before entering the accessible parking area, which is located just north of the ski patrol building.
-
Bogus Basin provides complimentary equipment rental for participants during their sessions. For your first session of the year, arrive about 45 minutes early to go through the registration and fitting process. The participant’s name will be on the list under “BASE.”
-
Depending on the timing of your session booking, you may already have a participant season pass.
Day pass vouchers will also be available, if needed, for a participant until they can redeem their e-voucher at the downtown office. Plan on it taking 30 minutes to exchange the day voucher for a day pass at the Bogus Basin ticket office on the day of your session.
-
BASE has a shed across from ski patrol, near Simplot lodge, that is on the snow just next to the rental building. Look for the blue BASE tent shelter. Please be 5 to 10 minutes early for your session.

The “new beginnings” of learning with base
BASE exists to serve the adaptive community by providing high quality, adaptive snow sport instruction. In addition to learning how to ski or snowboard, our participants gain confidence in their abilities and achieve things they never thought were possible for them.
